TSET Tells Oklahoma Teens They’re ‘Worth It’

Oklahoma teens helped shape a new TSET initiative designed to give young people credible information about nicotine in a way that reflects what they see and hear every day.

Launching Aug. 31, “Worth It” centers on a simple message: Teens’ health, time, money and future are worth more than tobacco and nicotine.

Research with teens across Oklahoma informed the creation of content that addresses vapes, nicotine pouches and other products while showing how nicotine can affect mental and physical health, sports performance, money and future goals.

“The tobacco industry keeps finding new ways to put addictive nicotine products in front of young people,” said TSET Interim Executive Director Lance Thomas. “‘Worth It’ meets young people where they are and reminds them that they are worth more than nicotine.”

The initiative will reach teens through schools, movie theaters and digital platforms and connect those ready to quit with free, confidential support through My Life, My Quit.
