Dr. Doug Cox Appointed to TSET Board of Directors

Doug Cox Physician and former legislator Doug Cox has joined the TSET Board of Directors, bringing decades of experience in medicine, public health policy and state government to the seven-member board that oversees TSET's investments in programs and grants to improve the health of Oklahomans.

Appointed by State Treasurer Todd Russ, Cox practiced family and emergency medicine in Grove for nearly four decades and served 12 years in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, where he chaired the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Health Care.

Throughout his career, he has worked to improve access
to care and advance public health across the state.

“Doug brings a rare vantage point to this board,” said TSET Board Chair Jennifer Needham. “He’s treated the consequences of tobacco use and chronic disease firsthand in the emergency room, and he’s also sat at the table where the state decides how to fund the systems meant to prevent those very outcomes. We’re fortunate to have someone who understands both sides of that equation as we chart TSET’s next chapter.”

Cox succeeds Jack Allen, whose seven-year term concluded June 30.
